FAQ
Absolutely. Chocolate Nation is designed for visitors ages 6 to 106 and is especially popular with families with children.
During the experience, children discover in a playful and interactive way where chocolate comes from, how it’s made, and why Belgian chocolate is so beloved worldwide. Along the way, they enjoy impressive projections, animations, interactive installations, and, of course, the chocolate tasting in our Tasting Heaven.
The experience is structured as a journey of discovery that keeps younger visitors engaged without leaving adults bored. This makes Chocolate Nation an ideal activity for families, grandparents with grandchildren, and families visiting Antwerp.
Even the youngest children are welcome. Children ages 0 through 3 may enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Children aged about 6 to 8 can often follow the story of chocolate on their own and really enjoy the interactive exhibits, audiovisual effects, and chocolate tastings. Teenagers, too, are often surprised by the combination of technology, storytelling, and chocolate.
Younger children are, of course, also welcome. They especially enjoy the visuals, scents, animations, and the overall experience along the way, although some of the narrative content may still be a bit complex for the very youngest.
Thanks to its blend of entertainment, history, craftsmanship, and tastings, Chocolate Nation is an activity the whole family can enjoy together.
No, Chocolate Nation does not have a separate children’s tour or a special children’s audio guide.
And that’s a deliberate choice: the experience is designed to appeal to both children and adults. Thanks to the combination of impressive projections, interactive installations, moving images, the scent of chocolate, demonstrations, and tastings, children experience the story of Belgian chocolate in an accessible and playful way.
The standard audio guide is primarily aimed at teens and adults, but families with younger children can, of course, choose to discover the experience at their own pace and explore the various rooms together. In fact, a Petit Chocolatier is hidden in every room for children to find.
This makes Chocolate Nation an ideal family activity for visitors aged 6 to 106, where everyone can learn something new and have fun in their own way.
